Eternity Ahead: Available Options, By AKO

 

Welcome to A Moment In His Presence, where we explore the Word for the benefit of every child of God, who desires pure and undiluted themes from the throne of Grace.

 The Bible texts for today is Revelation 20:12 & 15:

★ And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

★ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Salvation and Eternity are dreaded unpopular Bible themes, in contemporary Christendom. To be eligible for Salvation, total surrender to the lordship of Jesus Christ is an exclusive condition, as the following Bible passages indicate:

★ Romans 10:9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

★ Romans 10:13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

★ John 3:17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

A Christian song writer captures the mode of acceptable surrender in that melodious rendition as follows:

I surrender all, I surrender all, unto thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

Characteristics Of Unacceptable Surrender:

• Conditional surrender

• Doubtful surrender

• Halfhearted surrender

• Insincere surrender

• Partial surrender

Why You Need To Surrender:

It is worthy of note by every true child of God, that only those who are genuinely saved can aspire to a blissful eternity in heaven, one of the Options In Eternity, as indicated in the gospel of John 14:1-2:

★ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

★ In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Eternity in heaven, this is a realistic expectation for those whose names are written and found in the book of life. To them the lord has gone as promised, to prepare a place of eternal rest. That option in eternity should be the ultimate and utmost desire of all true children of God, including you and I.

It is the mind and ernest desire of God, that all his true children should find their way back home to eternal rest, in mansions prepared by our lord and Savior. Similarly, he wishes that every living soul becomes his true child, whose eternal mansion joyfully awaits. For this singular reason, heaven neither rejoices nor celebrates the deaths of sinners, false or unsaved souls, whose names are visibly missing in the book of life.

Indeed, there is great Joy in heaven when a soul repents and becomes a true child of God, as the gospel of Luke 15:7 indicates below:

• I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Upon repentance and total surrender to the lordship of Jesus Christ, your salvation is sure, however, it must be sustained by your daily works. For your name to be enlisted in the book of life, your daily works must affirm and not deny your Salvation, since every work is subject to the judgement of God, as Ecclesiastes 12:14 indicates:

• For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

To experience eternity in heaven, your lifestyle on earth must be in agreement with your Salvation, every lifestyle that denies your Salvation is an open disagreement with God and a negation of Amos 3:3 below:

• Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

A lifetime of unrepentant disagreement with God, makes a person ineligible for eternity in heaven, as names of such rebellious personalities are justifiably excluded from the book of life. Examine yourself in the light of these words today and remember that a mansion awaits you in heaven, however, your choice today counts.

Indeed, there are two options in eternity as depicted in Revelations 20:12 and 15 above, namely:

• Option of eternal rest in heaven

• Option of eternal turmoil in the lake of fire.

Your choice today determines your preferred destination upon transition from this earth, after a fulfilled life.

Pause at this juncture! Now search yourself deeply, without sentiments. Beloved, answer this question sincerely: Where will I spend eternity? This message is a token of love from God to you and others, to enable you make a dispassionate and well informed decision about your choice regarding eternity today.

Many are like the Rich man in the Bible, who neglected this all important decision and its attendant choice, until when it was too late to decide or make a choice. Souls are departing daily without a lucid view of what realities await them on the other side of life. There is no choice in the morgue, nor is choice available in the grave. Options in eternity vanishes at death, as your actions or omissions on earth, dictate your preferred destination of choice.

On the other side of life, two realities await you like everyone else, namely, judgement and eternity. It is a tragedy of unimaginable magnitude, to discover upon your departure from the earth that eternity is a reality that cannot be wished away, like the Rich man did in the gospel of Luke 16:22,23,27-31:

• And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

• And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

• Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

• For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

• Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them

• And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

• And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Now that you are still alive my friend, take a firm decision today about where to spend eternity, it is the greatest decision you can make as a living soul, the rich man in the above passages of the gospel neglected this golden opportunity and paid a very huge price in the lake of fire. You can make a decision to avoid such an ugly experience in eternity, by your choice today.

Resist delay and doubts, procrastination is a waster of precious time, avoid it by all means. Options in eternity are available to all living Souls. The choice is yours! Make a reasonable and well informed choice today. God loves you!

To derive maximum benefits from this message, take the following steps:

• Become a true child of God

• Surrender completely to the lordship of Jesus Christ

• Develop daily appetite for the Word of God

• Embrace holiness as a lifestyle

• Pray without ceasing

Prayer Points:

Confession: Psalms 119:11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

1. My father, empower me to choose the way of righteousness, in the name of Jesus.

2. Holy ghost fire, consume every desire for worldliness in me, in the name of Jesus.

3. Anything in my foundation diluting and killing the Word of God, expire now, in the name of Jesus.

4. You my life, hear the Word of the lord, you shall not disagree with the way of righteousness, in the name of Jesus.

5. Worldly attractions and distractions, shall not mislead me to eternity in the lake of fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Today, I reject eternal damnation, I choose eternal life in heaven, in the name of Jesus.

7. O Lord, I thank you for this message of love and for answering my prayers, in Jesus name.
