The Missionary Amazon 

Among the living icons of faith in contemporary Christendom, is the servant of God and a Celestial legend, Prophet(Dr) Paul Olowaremilekun Okuneye JP. Venerable Superior Evangelist.

The iconic Ministerial exploits of the Missionary Prophet is incomplete, without the encouragement and supportive role of the Missionary Amazon.

She provided the necessary stable and conducive atmosphere, required for efficient and functional Ministry, at the home front and at every mission field, where they served together as Ministerial Partners, to advance the Work of God.

This is a deserving tribute to a submissive and supportive Matriarch of faith, who sacrificially left behind her thriving Career, in pursuit of a joint Calling, with the legend of Faith in our time.

We join the Missionary Prophet, family, friends and well wishers globally, as they celebrate the goodness and grace of God upon the Missionary Amazon, on the auspicious occasion of her 80th birthday anniversary, scheduled for the 15th day of April, 2023.

Undoubtedly, the Book would be eminently incomplete, without adequate and essential reference to the Missionary Amazon, as a joint beneficiary of the Calling with daddy.

In 1976, at the prime age of 36 years, the Missionary Prophet resigned from secular official duties, as the Personal Assistant to the legendary Ife Prince, Okunade Sijuade (as he then was), who subsequently reigned as His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, in pursuit of full time Ministerial exploits.

Similarly, in a rare display of Christian Sacrifice and Submissiveness, the Missionary Amazon was 33 years Old in the year 1976, when she took the firm decision to resign from Secular Official duties, as a Receptionist/Typist at the Finnish Embassy, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Official designation of the Missionary Prophet as the first full time Shepherd of the Celestial Church Of Christ, to be posted outside the shores of Africa, by Most Reverend S.B.J. Oshoffa (of blessed memory), in the year 1976, impacted her status positively, as she assumed the status of the Wife and co labourer of the Shepherd designate.

Subsequently, they were jointly posted in 1977, as the Pioneers Overseas Shepherd and Wife of the Shepherd, of the Celestial Church of Christ, with headquarters at London, the United Kingdom.

With the Missionary Amazon by his side, the pursuit of full time Ministerial exploits, took the Missionary Prophet through the continents of Africa, Europe and North America respectively.

They depended solely on the Gospel and Prophetic mantle, through which they impacted several lives positively, by Salvation, Healing, Deliverance and multiple Signs & Wonders to the glory of God.

Like the Missionary Prophet, she equally tapped from the undiluted anointing of the renowned servant of God, of the Baba Abiye fame, known officially as Prophet/Evangelist Samson O. Akande (of blessed memory),

As a daughter in law, she had the privilege of hosting Baba, whenever he visited Lagos. As a way of life, Baba Abiye’s visit was incomplete without Prayer Rains. 

The Missionary Amazon was stoutly beside her husband, like the rock of Gibraltar calling for Divine intervention, when the major health challenge appeared like a sour chapter, in their fledging relationship.

However, the entire episode turned out to be the burning bush, that attracted the family to the Celestial Church of Christ in 1967. A divine connection as it were, to the platform prepared by God for their joint global exploits in the Ministry.

Like the Missionary Prophet, the Missionary Amazon is also a product of the matrimonial union of two families, in the Ijebu Kingdom of Western Nigeria.

The Odupitan family of Ijebu Ode, in the Ijebu Ode Division, of the defunct Western Region of Nigeria, gave out the hand of their daughter Juliana Omosola Ojuri, in marriage to Pa Adelowo Adesanya also an indigene of Ijebu Ode Division.

The Marital Union was blessed with three surviving Children, while the Missionary Amazon was the eldest Child of the family, born on the 15th day of April, 1943. She grew up in a Christian family, as members of the Church Of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.

Mother Celestial Beatrice Adedoyinsola Okuneye met and married the Missionary Prophet in the year 1964, a Union blessed with Seven Children and several grand Children to the Glory of God.

Mummy and Daddy led by example and discipline, using the Word of God as their foundation in the Ministry and the Compass for daily lives.

They nourished and maintained a sustainable monogamous home as prescribed by the gospel, while the practice within the fold tolerated otherwise.

Papa And Mama Okuneye 

While others were attracted to the Ministry for pecuniary gains, the Missionary Prophet and Amazon embraced sacrificial and selfless service in the Vineyard.

At 80 years, the Missionary Amazon is still efficiently active and agile in the Ministry, supporting the Missionary Prophet, in every material particular. .

We celebrate a true Mother In Israel, a unique symbol of hope for a new Celestial, where the Word of God remains the only standard, Jesus Christ the solid foundation and only Way to eternity in Heaven.
